Review of 'Blood and Sacrifice (Blood Ties)' by Jessica Gibson

Blurb:
Bronwyn left everything behind when she left with Ronan. She became what he needed her to be and forgot the rest. Too bad the past won't stay in the past.

Rider bursts back into her life uninvited, and is not the man she remembers. There is an edge to him that was not there before. Bronwyn is torn by guilt over what he has become and anger at being blamed for it.

When Ronan ended his maker’s life, he inherited a line of vampires and a whole set of problems to go along with it. Bronwyn must decide if their love is worth it, worth the killing, and the constant disruption of their lives.

Is love enough? Can Bronwyn find herself again and strike a balance between who she wants to be and who Ronan needs her to be? Or will she lose herself all over again?

**My thoughts**

I think that out of the three books thus far in the series, I liked this one the best. Bronwyn lost herself a bit at the end of the last book, as she decided to take off with Ronan. Friends and loved ones are still commenting on her changes at the beginning of this one. I saw a real growth in her during this book, as she found herself again. She was dealing with way too much confusion in the first book, unsure of how she wanted to live her life.

That being said, I am still not swayed over to Team Ronan! I fear that I am still Team Rider. Ronan is quite bloodthirsty for my taste, and way domineering. I know that some of my fellow readers love that about him!

This book also has more action in it, with more of a storyline as Ronan assumes power and tries to take control. It also ends with quite the cliffhanger!

Blurb:

Ronan has lived for hundreds of years. In all of his years there has only been one for him. What will he risk to get back what is his by right?

This is a short story and is the prequel to Love and Blood, book 1 in the Blood Ties series due out in January 2013.

**My thoughts**

This short is a fast read. It introduces you to Ronan, the bloodthirsty vampire, who has an obsession with a particular female. He is careless as he hunts, as he pursues that which he desires. For some, it builds up the anticipation of a sexy vampire who will stop at nothing to get what he wants. For me, it didn't endear Ronan to me, but I was intrigued enough to want to keep on reading to find out more about his obsession and how he could change to sway me to his side.

Always free!

Blurb:

Bronwyn Fitzgibbons was young and reckless. It was easy for Ronan to steal her human life and make her a vampire. She ran, but she never forgot him--or how he made her feel.

Rider saved Bronwyn from the new life she loathed and the new self she detested. His love restored her sanity.

Now Ronan is back to claim her. She struggles like hell against him, but she cannot deny the overwhelming power of her maker. Will Bronwyn surrender to the one who could possess her utterly? Or can she find the strength to choose the one who loves her as she is?

**My thoughts**

This installment in the series was another fast read. I finished it in less than an hour. Bronwyn is completely unable to make up her mind with whom she wants to spend her life. She hated herself with Ronan, and found happiness with rider. When Ronan reappears in her life, she begins this back and forth with both of them, unable to resist either one of them. Ronan is fierce and domineering. Rider fits in more with her current laid back lifestyle. She likes who she is better when she is with Rider. For these reasons, I have to say I am seriously Team Rider.

But Ronan has a power over her. He attracts her like no one else can. She is the only one who is good enough for him. Most of this book revolves around the love-triangle in which they are involved. A few other characters and situations are introduced, that I hope come back into play later on in the series as Ronan strives to take over his territories.
